David Schwartz, a key figure in the development of&nbsp;<a href="https://u.today/critical-upgrade-looming-for-xrp-ledger-node-operators" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">XRP Ledger</a> and the current Chief Technology Officer at Ripple, clarified that the naming decisions were made at a time when concepts like ICOs and private blockchains were not yet conceived.
