El Salvador is advancing its Bitcoin education, with students now learning about ASICs used in cryptocurrency mining. Mi Primer Bitcoin, a non-governmental organization launched in 2021, recently introduced students at the Instituto Nacional de Ciudad Delgado to these specialized mining devices. This initiative aligns with President Nayib Bukele’s push for broader Bitcoin adoption in the country, according to <a href="https://www.ibtimes.com/bitcoin-country-el-salvadors-students-now-learning-about-mining-asics-3735241" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Ibtimes</a>.
Mi Primer Bitcoin’s founder, John Dennehy, emphasized the program’s independence from government <a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/liquidstack-secures-funding-to-boost-eco-friendly-bitcoin-mining-in-the-u-s/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">funding</a>, relying on grassroots and corporate support instead. He highlighted the importance of unbiased education, allowing students to form their own conclusions about Bitcoin and its potential.
El Salvador, often dubbed "Bitcoin country," became the first nation to approve Bitcoin as legal tender in 2021. The Bukele administration has consistently promoted Bitcoin use and recently proposed private investment banks that operate with Bitcoin. The country has also maintained a strategy of daily Bitcoin purchases, holding over 5,793 Bitcoins as of June 26.
Despite initial challenges in adopting Bitcoin, El Salvador continues to develop its crypto ecosystem, focusing on education and financial integration. This educational drive includes programs like Cubo+, which also teaches Bitcoin concepts, supported by experts like Bitcoin Core developer Luke Dashjr.
El Salvador’s progressive stance on Bitcoin aims to rejuvenate its economy and position it as a leader in the global digital currency landscape.
