In a potentially encouraging signal for cryptocurrency advocates, advisers close to US Vice President Kamala Harris have initiated contact with billionaire and prominent Bitcoin proponent Mark Cuban on crypto policy. 
Cuban explained this development and expressed optimism regarding the questions. 
“I've been getting a lot of questions from Harris' team about crypto,” Cuban said today, adding: “I see that as a good sign.” 
Cuban said he wasn't aware of any other industry leaders who had received similar questions. In a conversation with Politico earlier in the day, the entrepreneur noted that business leaders are becoming more hopeful that Harris, if elected president, will be able to support emerging technology sectors more strongly than her predecessor. 
“The feedback I'm getting, although it's certainly not confirmed by the Vice President, is that Harris will be much more open to business, AI, crypto, and government as a public service,” Cuban said.

These developments come less than 48 hours into Harris' unexpected presidential campaign, which began after President Joe Biden announced Sunday that he would not seek re-election. Harris quickly established herself as the likely Democratic nominee. 
Despite this support, it remains unclear what path Vice President Harris plans to follow regarding cryptocurrency. Harris, who previously served as a San Francisco-based politician, is perceived as more committed to Silicon Valley and tech industry interests than Biden, though she has never publicly shared her views on the industry.
