<p>OpenAI chief executive officer and co-founder of WorldCoin (WLD) Sam Altman stressed on the need for more and more data on human identity in the world of artificial intelligence (AI).</p>

<h2 id="identifying-humans">Identifying Humans</h2> 
<p>Altman spoke at a virtual event, during which he emphasized on the importance of knowing who is human, in the context of increasing AI dominance. The CEO spoke in the context of reports suggesting that WorldCoin was looking to raise $50 million in funding. The WorldCoin project aims at acquiring user identification data by scanning their irises using the ‘Orb’ devices, with a larger objective to create a global identity network. Reiterating on the cause, Altman <a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.reuters.com/technology/openai-ceo-promotes-crypto-project-worldcoin-after-fundraising-report-2023-12-15/" target="_blank">said</a> data around human identity and the ability to detect would be critical in the world of AI, Reuters reported.</p>

<p>This comment comes only few weeks after drama unfolded around the CEO’s shock ousting from OpenAI and the subsequent return in a matter of days. The episode had an <a href="https://coingape.com/blog/why-is-worldcoin-price-rising/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">impact</a> on the WorldCoin (WLD) price, which is currently over 6% higher compared to a month ago. Meanwhile, whale transactions likely <a rel="nofollow" href="https://twitter.com/ali_charts/status/1735262860656488638" target="_blank">indicate</a> price volatility for the cryptocurrency. Recently, an outflow of $WLD worth $3.6 million was seen at the same time as the whales raised their daily transactions.</p>
