<p>Both Andreas Pletscher and Nicolas Jacquemart have been appointed to the positions of Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Chief Legal Officer, respectively, by the Cardano Foundation, as was <a href="https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20230215005120/en/Cardano-Foundation-Expands-Executive-Team-with-New-COO-and-CLO" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">announced</a> earlier today (CLO). While Pletscher comes to the Foundation from PwC, Jacquemart comes to the Foundation from FINMA, the Swiss organization in charge of supervising the financial industry.</p><h2 id="header-0">Frederik’s remarks</h2><p>The Chief Executive Officer of the <a href="https://cardanofoundation.org/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Cardano Foundation</a>, Frederik Gregaard, said he was happy to welcome Andreas and Nicolas to the Cardano Foundation team. According to him, not only will they bring a vast amount of expertise but also an incredible amount of ambition and drive, and he is confident that they will make a significant contribution to their mission, which is to increase the operational resilience and adoption of the Cardano <a href="https://blockchainreporter.net/blockchain/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">blockchain</a> while educating the world about the technology’s applications and potential.</p><p>In his capacity as a chief operating officer, Andreas Pletscher is expected to bring a lot of expertise to the table. Andreas has handled complicated operational and information technology transformation initiatives throughout the course of his more than 25 years of experience working in the local and international financial services industries. After holding the position of technology director at PwC and IBM, Andreas’ most recent assignment involved directing a significant change at a crypto services provider in Switzerland. He has worked at PwC and IBM.</p><h2 id="header-1">Dr. Nicholas’ remarks</h2><p>The leadership team of the Foundation is strengthened with the addition of Dr. Nicolas Jacquemart, who has extensive experience working in the legal field. His most recent position was on the fintech desk at FINMA, which is Switzerland’s organization in charge of supervising the financial system. In the past, he worked for prominent legal firms in Switzerland in a variety of capacities. The convergence of <a href="https://blockchainreporter.net/blockchain-technology-changing-the-world/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">blockchain technology</a> and regulated financial markets was the focus of his doctoral research at the University of Zurich, where he also earned his doctorate in law.</p><p>Nicolas Jacquemart, who is excited about his upcoming post as a chief legal officer (CLO), said that this is a fantastic moment to be moving into the assigned role. The Cardano Foundation takes its commitment to legal involvement and education very seriously, and its interest in the blockchain realm is clear. Opportunities for collaboration are many, and he is thrilled to be working at the interface between the Cardano <a href="https://blockchainreporter.net/glossary/digital-asset-ecosystem/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">ecosystem</a> and the larger blockchain community, as well as with regulators and those in the legal profession.</p>
