The announcement, made on&nbsp;Truth Social, named&nbsp;<a style="text-decoration:none" href="https://bsc.news/post/what-is-bitcoin-how-it-works-mining-digital-gold-guide">Bitcoin</a> (BTC),&nbsp;<a style="text-decoration:none" href="https://bsc.news/post/what-is-ethereum-eth-how-it-works-explained">Ethereum</a> (ETH), XRP,&nbsp;<a style="text-decoration:none" href="https://bsc.news/post/solana-blockchain-ecosystem-deep-dive">Solana</a> (SOL), and Cardano (ADA) as the five cryptocurrencies included in the reserve.
This move comes after Trump’s earlier&nbsp;executive order on digital assets in January, which directed officials to establish a&nbsp;national digital asset stockpile. While the order was initially met with skepticism, the latest announcement has sent crypto markets soaring, with Bitcoin surpassing&nbsp;$94,000 and Ethereum climbing&nbsp;13% in just hours.

 <li>Jeff Park, Bitwise’s head of alpha strategies,&nbsp;<a style="text-decoration:none" href="https://x.com/dgt10011/status/1896295649618051350">called</a> the decision a&nbsp;"huge political miscalculation," suggesting Trump underestimated Bitcoin's dominance.</li>
 <li>Nick Neuman, CEO of Casa,&nbsp;<a style="text-decoration:none" href="https://x.com/Nneuman/status/1896240103049331107">dismissed</a> the inclusion of other assets, stating that "infinite supply digital assets—especially ones with zero utility—do not fit the bill."</li>

Prominent analyst&nbsp;Peter Schiff questioned the rationale behind an&nbsp;XRP reserve, calling it unnecessary.

Trump’s decision to back a&nbsp;Crypto Strategic Reserve marks a&nbsp;major shift in U.S. crypto policy. Under the Biden administration, regulators took a&nbsp;hostile stance toward crypto, cracking down on major firms and considering the development of a&nbsp;Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC)—which Trump has explicitly banned.

The SEC has also&nbsp;backed off investigations into major crypto firms, including dropping its case against&nbsp;<a style="text-decoration:none" href="https://www.reuters.com/technology/us-sec-announces-dismissal-civil-enforcement-action-against-coinbase-2025-02-27/">Coinbase</a> and Robinhood.
