Hamster Kombat ($HMSTR), once a highly anticipated project, quickly became controversial after it went <a href="https://www.cryptotimes.io/2024/09/26/hamster-kombat-hmstr-token-is-live-now/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">live on September 26 at 12 PM</a> UTC (5:30 PM IST). The hashtag #HSMTRSCAM is trending across Twitter as disappointed users express their outrage.
After months of participation, many feel betrayed, receiving as little as $2 worth of tokens for their efforts. Some users spent six months completing tasks, playing games, and promoting the project, only to be left empty-handed.
A major issue stems from the airdrop distribution. Twitter users like Pushpendra Singh have <a href="https://x.com/PushpendraTech/status/1837793299173986357" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">accused</a> the project of unfairly disqualifying 63% of participants from receiving tokens. While loyal community members got meager rewards, influencers, and YouTubers reportedly received millions of tokens with little effort.

Adding to the frustration, $HMSTR has lost 50% of its value in just 7.5 hours, trading below its pre-market price. Unlike other tokens on the TON blockchain, $HMSTR saw no initial growth and began to drop sharply. This sharp decline is attributed to the community’s disappointment in the airdrop and lack of interest in staking, leading many to sell their tokens.
Some users also reported technical issues like network overload after the airdrop, further damaging Hamster Kombat’s reputation. The community is now urging others to block the project’s bot and boycott its social media accounts.&nbsp;
