Given the company’s history of disrupting traditional trading models, this initiative aligns with its ongoing commitment to democratize finance.</p><p>However, a company spokesperson told Bloomberg that it has “no imminent plans to launch this offering.”</p><h3 id="ethena-labs-and-blackrock-39-s-backing">Ethena Labs and BlackRock&#39;s Backing</h3><p>In a notable parallel, Ethena Labs, developer of the decentralized stablecoin protocol Ethena has introduced UStb, a new stablecoin backed by BlackRock’s USD Institutional Digital Liquidity Fund (BUIDL).</p><p>This partnership lends significant credibility to UStb, positioning it as a stable and trustworthy option amid a crowded market. By aligning itself with a major player in asset management, Ethena is tapping into the growing trend of leveraging institutional backing to enhance the appeal of stablecoins.</p><p>According to the company, UStb &#34;will exist as an isolated product separate from USDe offering users and exchange partners a new product with a differentiated risk profile&#34; to USDe, its synthetic dollar protocol built on Ethereum.</p><p>&#34;If required USDe backing composition can dynamically adjust between basis positions and liquid stable products in different interest rate environments and USDe can benefit from incorporating UStb during periods of weak funding conditions,&#34; Ethena Labs said.</p><h3 id="revolut-39-s-expanding-ecosystem">Revolut&#39;s expanding ecosystem</h3><p>At the same time, <a href="https://www.blockhead.co/tag/revolut/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Revolut</a> is exploring the launch of its own stablecoin as part of its comprehensive suite of financial services, Coindesk <a href="https://www.theblock.co/post/317166/uk-fintech-firm-revolut-intends-to-launch-its-own-stablecoin-report?ref&#61;blockhead.co" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">reported</a> earlier this month, citing people familiar with the matter. Renowned for its digital banking solutions and cryptocurrency offerings, Revolut likely seeks to harness stablecoins to facilitate faster and more cost-effective transactions for its global user base.</p><p>“Crypto is a big part of our belief in banking without borders and we have a clear mission to become the safest and most accessible provider of crypto asset services,” the spokesperson said, without confirming any stablecoin offering.</p><p>Integrating a stablecoin could enhance Revolut&#39;s competitive edge, offering users a seamless experience for cross-border transactions.
