<p>Crypto and blockchain investment firm <strong>Multicoin Capital</strong> revealed a major effort to back Republican politicians who are favorable to the crypto industry. The company pledged to contribute an equal amount of SOL donated to the Sentinel Action Fund, a conservative Super-PAC, up to $1 million within the next 10 days.</p>

<p>The donation process is done with the help of Gemini, a crypto exchange. Kyle Samani, the managing partner at Multicoin Capital, called for political activism to foster innovation in the United States.</p>
<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="strong-targeted-support-for-senate-candidates-strong"><strong>Targeted Support for Senate Candidates</strong></h2>
<p>The Sentinel Action Fund, which<strong> Multicoin Capital</strong> funds, is an organization that plans to endorse senate candidates who support cryptocurrency legislation.</p>
<p>Some of the prominent candidates are Sam Brown in Nevada, Dave McCormick in Pennsylvania, Bernie Moreno in Ohio, and Tim Sheehy in Montana.</p>
<p>Moreno’s campaign is especially interesting because he is vying with Senate Banking Committee Chair Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, who has expressed skepticism about cryptocurrency. The endorsement from Multicoin Capital and The Sentinel Action Fund may help these candidates in the upcoming elections.</p>
<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="strong-fairshake-faces-backlash-for-not-backing-john-deaton-strong"><strong>FairShake Faces Backlash for Not Backing John Deaton</strong></h3>
<p>While some of the industry players, such as <strong>Multicoin Capital,</strong> have backed pro-crypto politicians, more controversy surrounded FairShake, a crypto Super PAC. FairShake has been criticized for not backing John Deaton, a lawyer who supports XRP and is competing against Elizabeth Warren, an opponent of <a href="https://www.thecoinrepublic.com/2024/06/30/the-week-in-crypto-top-10-cryptocurrencies-that-gained/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">cryptocurrencies</a>.</p>
<p>However, FairShake has directed a large part of the funds it has raised to candidates who are not very supportive of cryptocurrency, which has led to dissatisfaction among the crypto community.</p>

<p>On The Chain co-founder Stephen Chip pointed out that FairShake had gathered $160 million by the end of May. Besides, the company mostly contributed to the Democrats, who are crypto critics. This funding allocation has angered the crypto community, who see Deaton as an important supporter in the battle for reasonable crypto legislation.</p>
<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="strong-growing-influence-of-crypto-voters-strong"><strong>Growing Influence of Crypto Voters</strong></h3>
<p>Cryptocurrency is one of the biggest topics in the presidential election cycle that is going on at the moment. The previous president of the United States, Donald Trump, allowed the use of cryptocurrency in his re-election campaign and affirmed that he would defend self-custody. Similarly, the Biden campaign is also in touch with the crypto industry and trying to know about the requirements and expectations of the community.</p>
<p>Stating that they will stand with crypto, the Stand With Crypto PAC has endorsed 18 candidates for the November elections while ensuring they are from both Democratic and Republican parties for the better regulation of cryptos.</p>
