Kelly Loeffler is the junior United States Republican senator for Georgia. Loeffler is the second woman in history to represent Georgia in the Senate and now the crypto community’s highest-placed political advocate. Before taking public service, Loeffler was the CEO of Bakkt and also held a leadership role at ICE before that. Loeffler led Bakkt, a bitcoin spot and derivatives exchange servicing institutional investors, from its launch in 2018 until around the time she was appointed to the Senate in December 2019. Bakkt also developed a consumer-focused payments app integrated into Starbucks’ mobile payment system. Loefller’s husband, Jeffrey Sprecher, is the founder and CEO of ICE.
