The team behind the crowdfunding campaign that raised nearly $700,000 in March to feature the mascot of Solana memecoin Dogwifhat (WIF) on the Las Vegas Sphere is "90% confident" the campaign to display the mascot on the sphere for an entire week will proceed as planned.
Mihir, one of the five organizers listed on the official 'sphere wif hat' website, expressed that representatives from the Sphere had developed new “crypto-specific” terms after learning about the campaign, and internal meetings were held to create policies catering to crypto-related initiatives.

"We are [still] working with them to fit their criteria and requirements," Mihir said, although he refrained from discussing specifics to avoid impacting ongoing negotiations or causing unnecessary speculation about WIF's price.

Mihir also addressed rumors about potential copyright issues with the official image of the Wif mascot, a dog named Achi. He clarified that the image's copyright status was not a hindrance and that the team is collaborating with Achi's owners on other initiatives. "The image may or may not have been copyrighted, but we're working with the owners of the dog on other initiatives, and they are happy about the meme," he said.

Mihir acknowledged a slim chance that the deal could fall through due to potential disagreements on requirements but stated that this has not been an issue so far. Contributors to the crowdfunding initiative have voiced concerns on X regarding the lack of communication from organizers about the campaign's progress and the handling of their donated funds if discussions fail. Mihir assured that all funds would be refunded if negotiations were unsuccessful.

The crowdfunding campaign's organizers include prominent crypto trader Ansem and four other pseudonymous members of the WIF community, whose Twitter handles are listed on the official campaign website. Despite the current challenges, the WIF token remains the 54th largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization. However, it has experienced a significant drop, falling more than 62% from its all-time high of $4.83 on March 31. As of the time of publication, WIF is trading at $1.80, declining by a significant 15% in the past 24 hours.
