Solana Name Service Stats

The single emoji domains were on fire this week. Approximately 50 of them sold on the secondary market.

Twitter is Back!

It’s with great pleasure that we can announce that our original Twitter account has been restored. We want to thank you all for sticking by us during this time and never failing to give us feedback and support. Without our community, our project wouldn’t make much sense and we are so grateful. Follow us on Twitter and come say hello!

Mutliple Token Registration

Welcome $BONK & $BAT

Last week we announced that SNS is now supporting multiple tokens as a payment option for domain name registration. As promised, we expanded this list with two valuable tokens.

First, $BONK was added. It is a token admired by the community and airdropped in large to Solana users in general. At first glance, this is a great option to enhance buying power of users.

Next, Brave’s Basic Attention Token (BAT) joined the club. As a result of our recent full-suite integration and partnership with Brave, it was really a no-brainer to expand the use of BAT to our Solana Name Service products.

Looking Back

Nightly & FoxWallet partnerships

We’d like to highlight our two recent wallet editions again. Nightly Wallet supports Aptos, NEAR and Solana - a great option to test if you have been exploring other chains.
Another spotlight-worthy look back is FoxWallet. The first wallet to integrate .sol domains not only on Solana but also on the BNB Smart Chain. In this article, read about how to bridge your domain to BNB and use it for transacting here.

Coming Soon

Additional Character Support for SNS

In the past, we have been pretty conservative adding new character support, for example, Chinese characters, to register a domain name. Specifically, because these characters can contain what we call variation selectors which can result in deceiving names. All you really need to know is that a scammer can sell a domain that looks identical to one already owned and cause confusion when transferring funds (ultimately a loss of funds too).

However, recently we’ve been revisiting the idea and have found a method to continue adding additional character support in a safe way! The first new language is coming to you next week.

We’re taking SNS to another chain 2.0

You might’ve gotten a whiff in the air that we’re almost ready to cross yet another chain with SNS. Our first chain was BNB and the integration works by linking your BNB address to your .sol domain name and using it for transactions. Get yourself familiarised with the process so you are ready for the next chain to come.
