The Myria Public Node Sale Is Now LIVE!

Mục lục

Following a highly successful whitelist campaign in which close to 6,000 nodes were purchased, Myria is delighted to announce that the Myria nodes public sale is now live. In total 34,000 Myria nodes are now for sale.

This means that anyone who missed out on the whitelist event and wants to buy a node to help secure Myria’s ecosystem can now do so by purchasing nodes with the MYRIA token.

How To Get Started as a Myria Node Operator?

Becoming a node operator is as simple as visiting this page on the Myria website, navigating, and following the instructions. You’ll need to use Metamask and have enough MYRIA tokens to buy a Myria node license (up to a maximum of 100 node licenses per Myria wallet account). More info about the MYRIA token.

Once the payment is complete and verified on the blockchain, your node license will be issued to you. You will then receive instructions on how to set up a VPS or download the software needed to run the node.

As Myria launches more games and attracts wider adoption, the price of nodes will increase. Getting a node now not only locks it in at a lower price but also delivers a first-mover advantage. As more node operators join, the rewards distribution will be shared among a growing pool, gradually diluting the rewards each node operator gets. Getting in early is one of the best hedges against this inevitable dilution.

What Are the Advantages of Owning and Operating a Node?

Myria node operators keep the Myria ecosystem secure and decentralized and owners get rewarded for running their nodes. As a node operator, you receive daily rewards for keeping your device operational and running a simple piece of node software, which Myria’s’ development team provides.

Your computer must be running the software for a minimum of 6 hours each day to be eligible for daily reward payouts. If this isn’t possible, you can easily set up a VPS (Virtual Private Server) that runs in the background even if your computer is off.

In return for the provision of their computational power, necessary to secure Myria’s L2 protocol, operators receive MYRIA tokens, the blockchain gaming platform’s proprietary cryptocurrency.

Node operators and MYRIA holders are important components of the Myria ecosystem. Soon, they’ll get voting rights and help shape the Myria roadmap.

This fully decentralized, democratic decision-making process ensures that Myria’s growth as a world-leading blockchain gaming platform stays on the right track and keeps the majority of stakeholders happy at all times.

For individuals and companies with a vested interest in the Myria protocol, we believe being able to influence Myria’s future direction is a major attraction to becoming a node owner.

MYRIA, NFT Drops, and Token Utility

Along with governance rights, receiving MYRIA token rewards and NFT drops are two of the biggest perks of being a node owner.

Of the hard cap of 50 billion MYRIA tokens, 36% of the total token supply — around 18 billion MYRIA — is reserved exclusively for node operator rewards.

With staking coming in the near future, MYRIA tokens can provide an additional yield that can be used to purchase in-game assets on the NFT marketplace, and much more. Tokens can also be sent to any exchange that lists MYRIA and swapped for other cryptocurrencies.

Partner Drops

In addition, node operators also enjoy regular NFT drops from both Myria and partner studios’ games. These NFTs will often have in-game utility and, as such, for the most popular Web3 games, will become prized and highly sought-after digital assets among community members.

Node owners will also get additional benefits for running a node as the Myria ecosystem grows and matures.

Equipment Needed To Run a Node?

Running a Myria node is straightforward. All that’s required is a computer with the following:

  • At least 4 gigabytes of RAM
  • 2 Physical CPU Cores
  • 60 gigabytes of hard disk space
  • An x86/X64 processor
  • Stable internet connection
  • Operating Systems (Win10, MacOS 10.10, Ubuntu 20.04)

Rewards Mechanism

Node operators have to run their node for a minimum of 6 hours every 24 hours (one complete cycle). You can earn a maximum of 1 point (6 hours of operation) per license per cycle (24 hours). In return, an operator will be awarded 1 point. At the end of each cycle, operators can exchange their points for MYRIA tokens. This is the reason the computer should be operational for that amount of time or longer.

Rewards accumulate for as long as the nodes are operational. We recommend keeping your node running permanently to maximize daily payouts and optimize Myria’s L2 functions’ efficiency and security.

Token Claim Mechanism

After each cycle, the successful operation of a node will earn the user 1 point. Points earned during a cycle can be exchanged for MYRIA tokens.

The amount of MYRIA received is determined by the following factors:

  • The current halving cycle of Myria node emissions
  • Number of points earned by the user (from the successful operation of a node)
  • Number of Node Licenses that were awarded 1-point during the cycle (in total across all nodes operating)
  • Number of days since the cycle completed

Node Halving Process

Yes, just like Bitcoin. Hard-baked into Myria’s L2 code is a halving process. This means that every two years, half as many MYRIA tokens will be available in the token pool to be distributed as rewards. In addition, as more operators purchase nodes, the share of tokens available will be naturally diluted.

In short, MYRIA tokens will always be available to node operators, but the number of token rewards will be reduced by 50% biennially. This is to incentivize people who believe in Myria, and can see the future potential of blockchain gaming, to get on board without delay.
