Key Facts

  • Strategy executive chairman Michael Saylor said Bitcoin will move back above $100,000 within 12 months, adding he can’t guarantee it will happen in 2026.

  • Asked how long the bull market would last, Saylor answered: "Four years."

  • Strategy holds about 845,000 BTC and has added roughly 160,000 this year, which Saylor said makes it the largest buyer in the world.

Strategy executive chairman Michael Saylor said Bitcoin will trade back above $100,000 within a year, putting a timeframe on a recovery he says has already begun.

"I feel like we're at the beginning of a bull run," Saylor told Schwab Network on Monday.

"I can't be sure it happens by the end of the year, but I feel like we're definitely moving back into the six figures at this point," he said. Asked how long the bull market would last, he answered: "Four years."

Bitcoin (BTC) traded at $82,666 at the time of writing, according to CoinMarketCap data, making recapturing $100,000 a 21% move. It remains about 34% below the record $126,198 it set in October 2025.

Bitcoin Clears Its 200-Week Average as Headwinds Fade

Saylor said Bitcoin had bounced off its 200-week moving average, a level many consider the dividing line between bull and bear markets, and had rallied "about $20,000 beyond that." The 200-week average stands near $66,700 at the time of writing, about $16,000 below the current price, according to CoinMarketCap data.

He said several headwinds are now fading, including restrictive foreign, monetary and trade policy, plus "the AI bubble that slurped a trillion dollars of capital."

In their place he put bank lending against Bitcoin, guidance from the US Treasury, the SEC and the CFTC, and the growth of tokenized digital asset securities.

Monetary policy remains the deciding factor, he said, because Bitcoin "tends to react like risk squared."

Saylor Calls the CLARITY Act a Bill of Restrictions

Saylor repeated his view that the CLARITY Act's collapse in the Senate helped the industry.

"If you want to create a great economy or a great nation, what you want is a bill of rights, not a bill of restrictions," he said.

"The CLARITY Act was 630 pages. And it was a bill of restrictions. It was 630 pages, of which probably 620 pages were restrictions."

He said the guidance that followed granted rights the bill would not: tokenization from the SEC, digital derivatives and prediction markets from the CFTC, digital currency issuance from the Treasury.

Bitwise recently made a similar case that the failure delivered faster wins than the bill would have, and both the SEC and CFTC signalled rapid rulemaking within days of the September vote.

Strategy's 845,000 Bitcoin and the Oct. 28 Dividend Vote

Saylor's own company, Strategy, currently holds 848,517 BTC — worth about $70 billion at the current price — alongside roughly $5.2 billion in cash reserves.

The company has added some 160,000 BTC this year, Saylor said, calling it "the biggest buyer of Bitcoin in the world" while acknowledging the pace has slowed against a larger base.

Shareholders will vote on Oct. 28 on the company's plan to pay daily dividends on its credit instruments. Saylor said they would be "the first securities in the world that pay dividends every calendar day."
