Avalanche has probably had one of the most exciting bull runs in 2021 as a major L1 blockchain. The blockchain promises extremely fast transaction speeds at much lower costs. And since it is EVM-compatible, users can utilize the blockchain to connect to their favorite dApps on Ethereum.
Connecting Avalanche to your MetaMask wallet is a straightforward task. In this tutorial, we will go over how you can connect Avalanche to your MetaMask. Let’s dive in!

Step 1: Install MetaMask

If you don’t have it already, then you first need the MetaMask wallet set up on your web browser. You can download it here.

Once you’ve downloaded it, it will appear as an extension and can easily be accessed through “Settings” on Google Chrome.

You can also type chrome://extensions/ to access the extensions on your Chrome browser.

Step 2: Set up Avalanche on MetaMask

The next step is to set up the Avalanche network on your MetaMask wallet. The first thing you will do is open the MetaMask wallet on a new browser tab. For that, simply click on the MetaMask logo on the top right extension area.

Click the three dots in the top-right and select the “Expand view”.

Your wallet will open on a new browser tab like this.

Now to add a new network, simply head to the circular logo on the top-right and go to Settings and then Networks.

Once you’re on this screen, select the “Add a network” option.

To key in the necessary technical information for the Avalanche network, head to the official website of Avalanche where you will find all the information.

You need to add the following info.

Once you’ve entered it, simply select “Save”. You will be redirected to your wallet where you will see the Avalanche network added.

Step 3: Transfer AVAX Tokens to Your MetaMask Wallet

Now the final step is to transfer some AVAX tokens to your MetaMask wallet. You can easily do that by heading to the exchange that you use and adding the tokens.
You will first need to purchase some AVAX tokens. Once you have them in your wallet, simply head to your exchange wallet and click select the “Withdraw Crypto” option.

Because I’m using Binance, my screen looks something like this.

I will copy my wallet address from my MetaMask wallet and then paste it into the “Address” bar. I will then select the network as AVAXC. Please follow the same procedure.

Once the AVAX tokens have been transferred, you will be able to see those tokens in your wallet.
