Web3 gaming company Immutable has introduced a new wallet infrastructure called "Immutable Passport," offering users a convenient and secure way to access their digital assets and gaming experiences.
According to the December 19 announcement, Immutable Passport allows users to create and recover their wallets using a Google or Apple account or through an email address. This simplified login process aims to enhance the user experience and reduce barriers to entry for Web3 gaming.
At launch, five games and apps have already integrated Immutable Passport: Gods Unchained, Blocklete Golf, B/R Watch 2 Earn, TokenTrove, and AtomicHub, representing a combined user base of over 500,000 people.
In addition to the wallet infrastructure, Immutable has also unveiled a user-friendly dashboard that automatically appears after logging in. The dashboard provides players with a centralized hub to discover new games, store and add funds, link third-party wallets, and manage all their in-game items.
Robbie Ferguson, Immutable President and co-founder, said:
“It's incredibly frustrating to spend countless hours building a superb game only to lose potential players because of a complex and cumbersome sign-up process. That's why our developer partners love Immutable Passport.”
Immutable's research suggests that gamers are more likely to sign up for a wallet using Immutable Passport compared to traditional wallet options. A consumer study conducted in August revealed that Passport has twice the sign-up rate among gamers.
