Uniswap Labs opened TJAR, a system that lets apps receive fees in a single token of their choice while searchers compete to convert the tokens collected, to any team.
The Token Jar framework was first built for Uniswap Protocol fees and handled more than $15.3 million in conversions last month, Uniswap Labs said.
Robinhood is using TJAR across its supported chains for fees collected through the Uniswap API and receives them in USDC and USDG.
Uniswap (
UNI) developer Uniswap Labs has opened TJAR, a tool that lets apps collect fees in a single token, to any team, with Robinhood already using it.
The tool is aimed at apps that earn fees in whatever tokens their users trade, which can mean holding many different assets across chains.
"Apps that charge fees are paid in whatever tokens their users trade. Most only want one, like stablecoins, ETH, or their own token," Uniswap
said on X on Thursday. "Now any team can make that happen with TJAR."
Apps deposit their fees into a Token Jar and pick the token they want, a price and a destination, Uniswap Labs said in a
blog post. Searchers pay the set price in the chosen token, the jar releases its contents to them and the chosen token goes to the app's destination.
Anyone can set up a jar in a single transaction, and settings can be changed at any time or locked permanently, according to the post.
The Token Jar framework was first built for Uniswap Protocol fees and handled more than $15.3 million in conversions last month, Uniswap Labs said. TJAR is live on seven chains.
Robinhood is already using TJAR across its supported chains for fees collected through the Uniswap
API, Uniswap Labs said. Fees are converted as they come in, and Robinhood receives them in USDC and USDG.
"The same setup works for any app, hook, chain or API integration with fees," Uniswap Labs said. Existing Uniswap API integrators can set a jar as their fee recipient in quote requests.
The launch follows a run of releases for the
decentralized exchange. Uniswap last week
launched Aggregator Hooks that wrap outside liquidity sources as v4 pools on Ethereum, Base and Robinhood Chain.
UNI traded around $7.17 as of 18:47 UTC, down 0.3% over 24 hours, according to CoinMarketCap data. Separately, CoinMarketCap reported on Wednesday that
Robinhood Chain brought in $26 million.
