Do Kwon Found Guilty of Fake Passport Case

Terraform Labs founder Do Kwon has been sentenced to four months in prison by a Montenegro court for using a false passport. He will remain in custody as both South Korea and the United States have requested his extradition on fraud charges related to his company's $40 billion collapse

Han Chong-Joon, the company's former Chief Financial Officer, was also charged and received the same sentence. The time both men spent in detention will be taken into account, according to the Montenegro Basic Court.

Kwon was charged with attempting to leave the country using a false Costa Rican passport. He claimed ignorance of the passport's alleged forgery. Kwon stated that he received his purportedly forged passports and travel documents, including the Costa Rican passport, through third-party agencies. He argued that, having used the passport for years without issue, he had no reason to suspect its authenticity.

Additionally, Kwon denied making financial donations to Montenegro's former finance minister Milojko Spajić, who now leads the Europe Now party.
