Fans of other joke cryptocurrencies — including FLOKI — also decided to try their hand, but Musk wasn’t having any of this either. He wrote:
“Out of curiosity, I acquired some ascii hash strings called ‘Bitcoin, Ethereum & Doge’. That’s it. As I’ve said before, don’t bet the farm on crypto! True value is building products & providing services to your fellow human beings, not money in any form.”
Disastrous for SHIBA INU?
Musk’s withering putdown meant SHIBA INU had its tail between its legs during Sunday’s trading — retreating sharply from all-time highs set earlier in the day.
Touted as an Ethereum-based alternative to DOGE, Coinbase made SHIBA INU available to trade back in September.
It also helps that he sent a tongue-in-cheek correction to an UberFacts tweet that claimed he’s predicted to become the world’s first trillionaire thanks to SpaceX. Musk mischievously added: “*in Dogecoin.”
