With the deployment of an ERC-20 token bridge, Linea, a zero-knowledge Ethereum Virtual Machine (zkEVM) rollup solution, has successfully launched its mainnet.
Linea Has Acquired A Lot Of Attention As One Of The Many Rollups Used On Ethereum
This new bridge enables third-party bridges to connect with the Consensys-developed Linea network, opening doors for a fresh wave of decentralized finance (DeFi) applications.
Users of the Buy crypto aggregator on MetaMask won't have to pay any network fees for the on-ramping of USDC.e during the next two weeks. This wrapper for Circle's stablecoin, which is pegged to the dollar, has been moved from the Ethereum mainnet to rollups like Linea and Arbitrum.
Since its introduction in July, Linea has acquired a lot of attention as one of the many rollups used on Ethereum. The network claims to host more than 150 dApps and has more than 100,000 active users per week.
Linea's architecture mirrors Ethereum's design while offering improved transaction speeds and reduced costs. Its compatibility with existing Ethereum applications makes it an attractive option for Solidity developers.
Linea aims to create a special prover technology called Vortex that will use inner and outside proofs in a two-step process. Fast lattice-based cryptography will be used in the inner proof, which is iteratively compressed using self-recursion, encased in an outside proof, and settled on Ethereum. This technique makes producing proofs quick and affordable.
