A former Coinbase employee has pleaded not guilty to the insider trading of cryptocurrencies.

Ishan Wahi is accused of sharing confidential information about when the exchange was planning to list coins with his brother and a business associate.

Prosecutors allege that this generated gains of approximately $1.5 million.

While the two Wahi brothers have been apprehended, Sameer Ramani remains on the run.

The three men could face 20 years in prison if they are convicted — and the Justice Department says this is the first time charges have been brought related to crypto insider trading.
