Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney Defends Metaverse Concept

Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney has once again spoken excitedly about the metaverse. In response to an article trolling the concept, Tim tweeted that the metaverse is not dead and that there are 600 million users on virtual world platforms like Fortnite, Minecraft, Roblox, The Sandbox, and VR Chat. He jokingly suggested that a metaverse event be held where millions of users could participate in real-time 3D. Sebastien Borget, CEO of Sandbox, supported this tweet. It should be noted that author Ed Zitron had called metaverse development a failure and shared an article titled "Metaverse is dead" on Twitter.
