<p>For the people who are unaware of eCash or XEC, this is a rebranded version of Bitcoin Cash ABC which is a fork of Bitcoin cash and has the heredity of Bitcoin. It uses a proof of stake consensus layer called Avalanche. It has nothing to do with the Avalanche Blockchain.</p>

Bitcoin Cash was created by splitting the Bitcoin blockchain by making certain changes. It is the result of differences in the Bitcoin community over the SegWit upgrade that happened in 2017.</p>
