As per the recently released reports, an <a href="https://bappebti.go.id/siaran_pers/detail/1279" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">announcement</a> on July 20 from Indonesia’s Commodity Futures Trading Supervisory Agency, also known as Bappebti, has revealed that the nation’s awaited crypto exchange has begun to operate.&nbsp; 
<h2 id="span-style-font-weight-400-indonesia-announces-new-crypto-exchange-span">Indonesia Announces New Crypto Exchange</h2> 
The announcement of the new firm beginning its operations comes just days after it was revealed that Indonesia had made a huge stride ahead with the establishment of a national exchange for digital currencies this month.&nbsp; 
According to a report published on July 14 by the local news agency Tempo, Bappebti, Indonesia’s <a href="https://thecoinrise.com/indonesia-will-debut-crypto-exchange-in-july/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Commodity Futures Trading Supervisory Agency</a> (CFTRA), plans to launch a national cryptocurrency exchange in July 2023. 
<h3 id="span-style-font-weight-400-a-clearing-house-has-also-been-set-up-span">A Clearing House has also been Set Up</h3> 
The agency has now set up a clearing house in addition to the exchange, the statements claim.&nbsp; 
Indonesia plans to leverage its national cryptocurrency exchange as an intermediary and custodial for the regional cryptocurrency market.&nbsp; 
<h2 id="span-style-font-weight-400-crypto-exchange-to-serve-as-a-go-between-span">Crypto Exchange to Serve as a ‘Go-Between’</h2> 
The ministry’s digital currency exchange will function as a go-between, ensuring the success of transactions. Furthermore, the project was referred to as “a catalyst for the Indonesian crypto ecosystem” by Pang Hue Kai, CEO of Tokokrypto, in September 2022.&nbsp; 
It must be remembered that the project has been anticipated for an extended period of time. In the beginning, the country expected to launch its very own digital currency exchange by the end of the year 2021. However, due to the lengthy procedure for evaluating possible exchange participants, Indonesia was unable to start it until the end of 2022. 
<h3 id="span-style-font-weight-400-indonesia-s-crypto-initiatives-span">Indonesia’s Crypto Initiatives</h3> 
Finally, on February 2, Trade Minister Zulkifli Hasan <a href="https://thecoinrise.com/indonesia-set-to-debut-crypto-exchange-by-june/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">acknowledged the new launch date</a> and explained that the government of Indonesia is now analyzing which businesses would meet their requirements to join the exchange at the start of Jakarta’s Crypto Literacy Month. At that time, he had to ask the people to wait for the country’s cryptocurrency exchange and remind them that rushing might result in a failure. 
Moreover, Indonesia, with an estimated population of over 270 million people took the lead by providing a comprehensive <a href="https://thecoinrise.com/indonesia-embraces-crypto-issues-501-tradable-digital-currencies/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">list of tradable crypto assets</a> last month.
