In an interview published, Ubisoft announced that it is set to remake and modernize some of its previous Assassin’s Creed titles. Though Ubisoft’s CEO Yves Guillemot didn’t specify which titles Ubisoft is going to remake, he assured players of a new experience exploring rich Assassin’s Creed open worlds.&nbsp;

The interview came after June 2024 Ubisoft Forward, where the company announced many games players should expect this year. Some of the announced ones included Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, Star Wars Outlaws, Skull and Bones, XDefiant Season 1, and Assassin’s Creed Shadows. During the interview, Yves mentioned a new title called Assassin’s Creed Code Hexe.

During the June 2024 Ubisoft Forward event, Ubisoft announced that Assassin’s Creed Shadows would launch on November 15. Other than Star Wars Outlaws, this Assassin’s Creed title was also a release gamers were hyped for. According to Yves, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, based in feudal Japan, will give players the choice of being either a shinobi or a samurai with different experiences. 
While the buzz around the game remained significant, Yves expressed his disappointment about the negativity surrounding the protagonists. The characters Yasuke, an African samurai, and Naoe, a Japanese shinobi, weren’t well-received. Many doubted Yasuke’s history as an African samurai, feeling that the main character should have been Japanese.&nbsp;

Yves discussed the hateful comments online directed toward Ubisoft staff, stating that he didn’t stand for them. Yves further encouraged the rest of the industry to join hands in denouncing these comments. Furthermore, Yves appreciated the creative work of Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ developers and other partners.&nbsp; 
<h2 id="span-style-font-weight-400-ubisoft-encourages-player-input-and-use-of-new-technology-in-games-span">Ubisoft encourages player input and use of new technology in games</h2> 
Yves <a href="https://news.ubisoft.com/en-us/article/E1e8T9q8rjZ4arsPNT1Xd/ceo-yves-guillemot-on-ubisofts-upcoming-portfolio-the-future-of-assassins-creed" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">mentioned</a> the significant role technology could play in evolving Ubisoft’s games.

Yves Guillemot also commented on how generative AI could make NPCs more interactive and intelligent. Furthermore, AI could play a more prominent role in shifting Ubisoft’s open worlds, making them more dynamic.

Some efforts to involve players in game development included the ongoing Assassin’s Creed Shadows TikTok dubbing challenge. Ubisoft also allowed fans to participate in the actual game by voicing secondary NPCs for the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
