South Africa is stepping into the world of cryptocurrency regulation with a significant move – issuing operational licences to 60 crypto platforms. Unathi Kamlana, the FSCA Commissioner, has assured that while the processing of applications is ongoing, more licences will be granted gradually. This signals a strategic approach to managing the influx of crypto businesses seeking legitimacy in the South African market.
