<p>While many crypto enthusiasts mistook Joe Biden’s new laser-eye profile picture for a direct reference to or endorsement of Bitcoin, the “Dark Brandon” meme refers to the conspiracy theory that the Super Bowl would be rigged to ensure Taylor Swift’s boyfriend Travis Kelce’s team won so that the pop superstar could then endorseJoe Biden for president.</p>

<p>According to Coinbase’s nonprofit advocacy organization Stand with Crypto, Biden is “against crypto,” having made five public statements that take a negative stance on digital assets.</p>
