BNB Chain, the blockchain platform powered by the Binance Coin (BNB) altcoin, announced the launch of opBNB, a layer 2 (L2) solution using Optimistic Rollup (OP) technology, on the testnet. 
Here's how opBNB was introduced on the official BNB Chain website:

Leveraging the 100M block size, opBNB's gas fees remain flat and low cost, making it a great solution for widespread adoption across multiple digital environments. From gaming and decentralized exchanges to everyday use and digital collectibles, opBNB meets a wide range of needs while delivering optimum performance.”

The ideal scenario, according to BNBChain, is for opBNB to serve as a dedicated high-performance ledger for gaming applications and BSC to act as a secure consensus layer. In this way, opBNB can provide a seamless user experience for players and DEX users, while BSC can ensure the certainty and security of transactions. 
OpBNB also supports digital collectibles such as non-fungible tokens (NFTs), which are becoming increasingly popular in the gaming and arts industries. 
OpBNB is currently in the testnet phase, so it's not fully operational yet.
