Jatinder Singh, the 37-year-old boyfriend of Thevamanogari Manivel, a Melbourne lady who received a $10.5 million return from digital asset exchange Crypto.com instead of a $100 refund, has been granted bail by the Victorian County Court.Despite the fact that Senior Constable Conor Healy argued that around $7 million had been collected and Singh may run with the remaining balance, Judge Daniel Holding refused to grant bail.Remember that while processing a $100 refund for Singh&#39;s crypto purchase, a Singaporean exchange staffer unintentionally wired the money to Manivel&#39;s bank account. She had, however, already transferred $10.1 million to a joint account with Singh. The woman reportedly purchased a luxury $1.35 million five-bedroom mansion in Craigieburn for her sister, as well as paintings, presents, automobiles, and furnishings. Manivel eventually moved $4 million to an offshore account in her name and $1 million to Singh&#39;s account.As CryptoPotato revealed in August, Crypto.com filed a lawsuit against Manivel, claiming reimbursement for the monies spent. At the court hearing, Manivel alleged Singh told her he won the money in a Crypto.com tournament, explaining why the monies were not returned.Manivel and Singh both pled not guilty to many accusations levelled against them, and the former was released on bond during the committal hearing while the latter remained in detention. While officials have seized $7.3 million, $3.1 million is still owed, with $2.2 million remaining in the offshore account.Despite opposition from Constable Healy and Prosecutor Peter Botros, who stated that it was simpler for Singh to depart Australia before his arrest because he had no work, steady abode, or family, the judge granted the bail. Singh would be unable to exit the nation, according to Judge Holding, because the bail conditions would require him to forfeit his passport.
