<p>On February 10, Bitcoin-based decentralized finance network DeFiChain announced a <a href="https://coinmarketcap.com/earn/project/defichain" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Learn &amp; Earn program</a> on CoinMarketCap. The initiative gives existing and new members of DeFiChain’s growing community a chance to demonstrate their knowledge of its constituent parts and to be rewarded for their efforts.</p><p>If you’re considering taking part in DeFiChain’s Learn &amp; Earn program, this guide is for you. It details all of the resources you need to ace the educational program, maximize your rewards, and get the most out of DefiChain’s products and services. It’s since spawned applications by other developers that reward users for walking, sleeping, and learning.</p><p>With the simple slogan “Learn crypto. Earn crypto,” CoinMarketCap’s educational <a href="https://coinmarketcap.com/earn/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">program</a> is self-explanatory. As the portal developed by the crypto data aggregator explains, it’s a chance to “Acquire crypto assets in a fun and low risk way, by taking lessons and testing your knowledge.”</p><p>Each of the courses that make up the <a href="https://coinmarketcap.com/earn/project/defichain" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Learn &amp; Earn program</a> comprise a series of short videos. Watch each one in turn and complete a short quiz afterwards to become eligible for the reward. It’s that simple. There’s no obligation to complete every Learn &amp; Earn module, incidentally; participants are free to pick and choose the projects that are relevant to their interests. Only the quiz requires you to know what has been said in the videos. In this article we’ll be focusing on the latest Learn &amp; Earn project only: DeFiChain.</p><h3 id="what-is-defichain">What Is DeFiChain?</h3><p><a href="https://defichain.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">DeFiChain</a> is a non-Turing complete blockchain - a hardfork of Bitcoin - designed for supporting decentralized finance applications. Think saving, trading, lending, borrowing: basically all the core functions that are synonymous with DeFi.</p><p>DeFiChain is anchored to the Bitcoin network. This provides immutability, since a record of the network’s current state is periodically recorded on the Bitcoin blockchain, whose robust security model ensures that transactions cannot be rolled back.</p><p>What happens on Bitcoin stays on Bitcoin, so by publishing a record of transactions on BTC, DeFiChain provides robust assurances that its own network will not be altered in any way after the fact. When you transact on DeFiChain, you can do so with confidence in the inviolability of its current state.</p><p>In a nutshell, that’s what DeFiChain is and does. And that, as it happens, is what you’ll need to know to ace the first video in its Learn &amp; Earn <a href="https://coinmarketcap.com/earn/videos/what-is-defichain" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">series</a>: “What is DeFiChain?”</p><h3 id="what-you-can-do-on-defichain">What You Can Do on DeFiChain</h3><p>We’ve covered the basics of how DeFiChain works. The <a href="https://coinmarketcap.com/earn/videos/everything-you-can-do-with-defichain" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">second lesson</a> you’ll need to master to complete the Learn &amp; Earn series addresses things you can do on the decentralized finance network. This section covers concepts such as liquidity mining, staking, decentralized stocks, and decentralized loans.</p><p>One of the most important concepts you’ll learn about here are dTokens. These are decentralized assets that mimic the price of real-world stocks and ETFs like dTSLA or dAAPL. Essentially, these are synthetic assets that give you exposure to the underlying asset but without needing to purchase the stock itself.</p><p>It’s one thing to know the theory as to what can be done on DeFiChain – it’s another to know how to actually do it. This is the topic addressed in the <a href="https://coinmarketcap.com/earn/videos/how-to-trade-cryptocurrencies-and-decentralized-assets-on-defichain" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">third lesson</a> of Learn &amp; Earn: “How to trade cryptocurrencies and decentralized assets on DeFiChain.” Here you’ll learn about the DFI token, the role it plays in supporting network consensus and security, and how it’s used as collateral to mint dAssets.</p><h3 id="creating-tokenized-assets">Creating Tokenized Assets</h3><p>The final two lessons in DeFiChain’s Learn &amp; Earn series get more technical so you’ll need to have your thinking hat on and watch the videos closely. <a href="https://coinmarketcap.com/earn/videos/how-to-make-the-most-out-of-your-assets-on-defichain" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Lesson four</a> covers liquidity mining and staking.
