Kiss frontman Gene Simmons has become the latest surprise celebrity to announce that they invest in crypto.

The legendary bassist has quite the diversified portfolio after snapping up Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Dogecoin and XRP.

Simmons stressed that he wasn’t giving any financial advice or making recommendations, telling his 900,000 followers: “Make of it what you will.”

His tweets were retweeted thousands of times.

What remains to be seen is whether he managed to sell at an opportune time — if at all — with BTC, ETH and DOGE recently cooling from record highs… and XRP undergoing a dramatic pump and dump just hours after his tweet was sent.

Other A-listers who have dipped their toe into the world of crypto in recent months have included JK Rowling, who tweeted to ask her millions of followers for a simple explanation of how Bitcoin works. (That didn’t go well… and ultimately ended up confusing things further.)

Game Of Thrones actress Maisie Williams also caused a stir when she released a Twitter poll in November asking whether she should go long on Bitcoin.

Her survey attracted 902,000 votes, with 53.4% voting no. Little did we know that a dramatic surge was around the corner, with prices more than doubling from $16,000 to $42,000 in the six weeks that followed.
