Global cryptocurrency exchange LBank is actively joining the Web3 scene in South Korea, partnering with local universities and projects. With Web3 education as the focal point, LBank hopes to make big moves in the East Asian country.
On March 17th, LBank
signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Hyundai Card non-fungible token (NFT) project 'Modern Lion' to expand their Web3 ecosystems and promote blockchain education in Korea. LBank CEO Eric He and LBank Director of Marketing Andrew Kang attended the signing event at Modern Lion’s headquarters in Seoul.
"We hope to create synergy between LBank and Modern Lion. Our collaboration goes beyond business, we wish to nurture the next generation of Web3 builders through workshops and seminars," Kang explained. "Korea is a land of potential and fosters some of the top talents in Asia. We want to provide guidance and support to all upcoming initiatives."
Earlier this year, LBank signed another MoU
in cooperation with Korea's Chung-Ang University on blockchain cooperation. “In collaboration with Chung-Ang University, we plan to host seminars and conferences about the Web3 industry. Furthermore, we will provide various training programs to support talent,” said Czhang Lin,
LBank Labs’ board of directors member, at the signing ceremony.
In Febuary, Labs hosted an
'LBank Connect WEB3.0' event at Sparkplus Seolleung. During the venture capitalist fund’s first major event in Korea, discussions surrounded topics such as STO, changes in the blockchain market, and Web3 convergence of Web2 companies. On March 18th, LBank sponsored the GM WEB3 TALK&PLAY event in Seoul, sparking discussions on the necessity and value of Web3.
"We plan to continue hosting events and connecting people from all over Korea. By bringing people together and listening to diverse opinions, we are expanding our understanding of Web3 and seeing the possibilities that this technology provides," Kang said. "This is the first phase of our venture. We hope to find more partners and help young talent explore the world of Web3. We have a lot planned for 2023."
