[Bloter] "Rewarding Readers and Press" ... 'PUBLISH' Prevents Decline of Local Newspapers

PUBLISH, a blockchain-based news ecosystem, has gained attention as a public interest project that prevents the decline of local newspapers.

Bloter reported on the meaning of the blockchain-based news ecosystem based on a special lecture by Kwon Sung-min, the CEO of PUBLISH, at the "2023 World Journalists Conference" held on the 25th.

PUBLISH has created blockchain-based "R&E (Read and Earn)" service that rewards users with tokens (virtual assets) for reading and sharing articles. Bloter stated that "the protocol ecosystem of PUBLISH provides a potentially sustainable community and system by increasing reader loyalty and direct visits to news media" based on Kwon's statement, and that PUBLISH's reader reward system is a greater incentive for local newspapers.

Furthermore, Bloter presented examples of local newspapers <Chungcheong Today>, <Gangwon Ilbo>, and <The Scoop>, all of which are participating in the PUBLISH Alliance. Bloter proposed practical methods for enhancing the value of news by issuing not only NEWS tokens, but also NFTs.
