Tech-enabled healthcare platform, CloudClinic, unveiled in Lagos
CloudClinic Limited (CCL), a digital healthcare service company, has launched its cloud-based healthcare solution called CloudClinic. This new solution facilitates virtual consultation between patients and licensed medical practitioners.

It will also help the digital healthcare service company CloudClinic Limited to provide accessible and affordable healthcare from the comfort of their homes, offices, or on the go with the aid of their internet-enabled devices through its mobile app services.

Speaking on their new launch at an unveiling event, Ifeanyi Aneke, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Cloud Clinic Limited, said,

We are delighted to introduce CloudClinic, a suite of mobile platform, web, and API services specially designed to seamlessly connect healthcare seekers in Nigeria to licensed healthcare services providers such as doctors, hospitals, pharmacies, and medical laboratories.

Ifeanyi Aneke further explained that the platform ensures strict adherence to optimal patient health standards, offering a complete and world-class healthcare experience. He stated,

CloudClinic offers an extensive feature that gives patients a wide range of diagnostic, pharmaceutical, and hospital options, relying on our partnership with licensed and recognized medical laboratories and pharmacies while ensuring the confidentiality of all medical records.

Also speaking at the launch, Dr Amy Ojiakor, Clinical Director, Cloud Clinic Limited, highlighted that Nigeria has a 1 to 10,000 doctor-to-patient ratio. This ratio further demonstrated that the typical Nigerian must travel a considerable distance to a hospital and wait in line for hours before seeing a doctor. Due to this constraint, there are several instances of late presentation in Nigerian hospitals, which raises the mortality rate.

“Through CloudClinic, a doctor can request an investigation or prescribe a drug for the patient. The solution also makes it possible for a patient to quickly locate a Medical Laboratory Pharmacy and Hospital nearest to him or her,” she said.

According to her, CloudClinic also allows patients to have their samples collected in their homes and their drugs delivered to them when the patient cannot go out or does not want to go to the medical laboratories or pharmacies.

Also commenting, Flourish Nnamdi, Product Manager, Cloud Clinic Limited, commented that the product is user-friendly and backed by 24-hour, seven days a week support. He called on stakeholders in the health sector to register on CloudClinic as a patient or doctors by downloading the app from the App Store, Google Play Store, or by visiting the website.

CloudClinic; making a difference in Nigeria’s healthcare sector

It is not surprising that the Nigerian healthcare industry continues to struggle to establish a foothold in terms of offering high-quality treatments that are both affordable and accessible. The obstacles remain numerous, ranging from a lack of financing to a paucity of medical professionals to limited access to healthcare services, particularly because of its high cost.

In a 2021 report by Trade Gov, the NHIS penetration has consistently remained low. It further reported that less than 5% of the population is currently enrolled in the NHIS, and an estimated 120 million Nigerians currently do not have health insurance coverage.

However, with the launch of CloudClinic, Ifeanyi Aneke believes CloudClinic Limited (CCL), can tackle some of the challenges.

Ifeanyi Aneke claims that the inspiration for CloudClinic came from a desire to put high-quality, affordable healthcare at the ‘doorstep’ of every Nigerian. This conviction served as the impetus for creating the cloud-based healthcare platform.

In addition, CloudClinic is working to address one of the major problems in the healthcare industry: poor communication. Language problems have frequently been a concern in rural parts of Africa, which has resulted in poor communication between patients and healthcare professionals.

However, by matching patients and doctors according to their chosen native languages, the new solution from CloudClinic further widens access to healthcare. This feature ensures clear and effective communication between patients and doctors.

Although the health tech startup is and has partnered with over a thousand licensed medical laboratories, pharmacies, and hospitals across Nigeria, Cloud Clinic Limited is also inviting Licensed Medical Laboratories, Pharmacies, and Hospitals interested in partnering with them to visit the Partnership page on the website.
