<h2 id="header-0">Binance CEO Plans to Petition for Lawsuit Dismissal in the US</h2><p>Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao plans to petition the US commodities regulator to dismiss the lawsuit. The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) sued <a href="https://www.coingabbar.com/en/crypto-currency-news/howey-tests-impact-unraveling-ripple-binance-and-coinbase-cases" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Binance</a> and Zhao in March, alleging that the crypto exchange did not properly register with the regulator and knowingly traded cryptocurrencies to US residents in violation of US laws. The Securities and Exchange Commission also sued Binance and Zhao in June, alleging that it sold unregistered securities and allowed US customers on its global platform. Binance is also being investigated by the US Department of Justice for violating US sanctions.</p>
