EigenLayer has introduced six new actively validated services (AVSs) with the stage 3 mainnet launch, expanding its ecosystem beyond its initial AVS, EigenDA. The new AVSs are AltLayer, Brevis, Eoracle, Lagrange, WitnessChain, and Xterio, which will be secured via restaking. 
These AVSs provide various functions to meet different needs in the Ethereum ecosystem. Some, like Lagrange and AltLayer, aim to accelerate Ethereum rollups by providing light client functionality and faster confirmation speeds, respectively. Eoracle is the first Ethereum-native oracle network developed on EigenLayer, enabling integration into decentralized applications. 
Brevis is developing “coprocessors” on EigenLayer, focusing on providing efficient computational resources for operations that require stateless computations. The introduction of these services follows the <a href="https://www.cryptotimes.io/2024/04/10/eigenlayer-launches-on-ethereum-introduces-eigenda/" data-wpel-link="internal">mainnet rollout</a> of EigenLayer and its data availability layer, EigenDA, earlier this week. 
EigenLayer had previously stated that it would allow the operator and AVS marketplace to develop and stabilize before introducing in-protocol payments and slashing to the mainnet later this year. The total value locked in EigenLayer currently exceeds $15 billion. 
This expansion marks another phase in EigenLayer’s development, with the new AVSs expected to contribute to the growth and capabilities of the Ethereum ecosystem.
