Ripple CTO David Schwartz recently tweeted the email conversation that led to his hiring by Jed McCaleb, co-founder of Ripple and Stellar. On February 24, the creator of the XRP Ledger shared the email on this Twitter profile.The September 17, 2011 email is a job application for the post of lead software engineer.Schwartz shows his interest in the role in the email and emphasizes his knowledge in cryptocurrency and decades of programming experience.He also emphasizes his Bitcoin community engagement and his efforts on a Bitcoin replacement. In another tweet, Schwartz stated that the idea would have been most similar to FileCoin, a decentralized storage network. Nonetheless, he highlighted that the notion was in its very early conceptual phases at the time.The next day, McCaleb responded to the email, indicating his desire to meet with Schwartz to explore the post further. &#34;Yeah, I&#39;ve read your forum posts. Your CV appears to be ideal for the position. We&#39;d want to meet with you to discuss it further. Do you ever visit the bay area? &#34;He put pen to paper.The trade, which took place in September 2011, resulted in Schwartz being appointed as Ripple&#39;s principal software developer. He was then appointed to principal cryptographer and, finally, CTO.Schwartz recently confirmed to U.Today that he has no intentions to depart the San Francisco-based company. While he has indicated an interest in beginning a new enterprise from scratch, he does not want to make a token effort and lacks the enthusiasm required to launch a new large initiative on his own.
