<h4><strong>The Worldcoin Foundation recently <a href="https://worldcoin.org/blog/announcements/worldcoin-foundation-announces-one-year-reservation-extension?forceLocale=true" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> a significant update, granting an additional year for the redemption of WLD grant reservations. </strong></h4> 
<p>This initiative was introduced to allow broader participation in the Worldcoin project, regardless of the availability of orbs.</p> 
<h5><strong>Expansion and Extension</strong></h5> 
<p>Following the launch of Worldcoin, the Foundation introduced WLD grant reservations. This system enabled individuals without a verified World ID to reserve <a href="https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/worldcoin" target="_blank" rel="noopener">WLD tokens</a> for future redemption. Originally set for a one-year redemption period, this allowed ample time for individuals to verify their World ID and claim their reserved tokens.</p> 
<p>For early adopters who began reserving tokens shortly after the launch, the initial redemption deadline was approaching in July 2024. However, the Foundation has extended this deadline by an additional year. This means that all WLD grant reservations made between July 24, 2023, and July 31, 2024, will now remain valid and redeemable until July 31, 2025.</p>

<p>Moving forward, individuals interested in participating in the Worldcoin project through WLD grant reservations still have time to do so. New reservations will continue to be accepted until July 31, 2024, providing an opportunity for more people to secure their place in the growing <a href="https://worldcoin.org/open-source?forceLocale=true" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Worldcoin ecosystem</a>.</p> 
<p>The extension of the redemption deadline reflects the Foundation’s commitment to inclusivity and ensuring that as many people as possible can engage with and benefit from Worldcoin. It acknowledges the community’s rapid expansion and aims to accommodate the increasing interest in decentralized digital identity and cryptocurrency innovations.</p>
