Dear community members, We are pleased to announce a significant update of the node backend on our internal Devnet as outlined below. If everything continues to run smoothly, we plan to merge it to the public Galileo testnet next week. What’s new in this upgrade? * Robust slashing protection. Fix a rare slashing condition that happens in distributed validation. * Improved validation performance. Allows multiple operators to submit attestations together (no risk of slashing), improving performance from 75% to 100% when one operator is down. * Improved syncing check at the start of the operator node. A node will only start when connected to a synced beacon node and a synced execution engine. * More flexible operator node deployment. Remove the deployment dependency of Lighthouse and Geth from an operator node. Users can choose to configure their own beacon node endpoint. * More stable listeners for contract events. * Added necessary logistics for handling contract tokenomics. Additionally, we are introducing the major use case of the STATE token. $STATE is our governance token, and it will be the native token Validators use to pay subscription fees to their Operators when SafeStake launches on Ethereum mainnet. The initial setting of the subscription fee level is 30 STATE tokens per Operator node per month. Because we calculate the fee per block, the final fees will vary slightly when Validators are set up and interact with the fee management smart contract. Here’s how to claim Goerli testnet STATE tokens: There are two ways you can claim 120 STATE testnet tokens per account on a monthly basis. Through the Twitter faucet bot, or through the Discord faucet bot.
