PUBLISH is pleased to announce the launch of Korea’s first cryptocurrency platform with World Vision, an international development NGO.Accessible via World Vision’s official website, the service is the first of its kind in the country to accept cryptocurrency donations and issue NFT (non-fungible token) donation certificates.To promote the launch, donors using the service until the end of November will be automatically entered into a lottery with a chance of winning a limited edition Hunminjeongeum Haerye NFT or a Jerry Bag luggage tag. At the time of writing, accepted cryptocurrencies are limited to Ether (ETH), the cryptocurrency that fuels the Ethereum blockchain ecosystem.The project represents the latest in a string of NFT projects spearheaded by PUBLISH, most notably the <a href="https://publishinc.io/en/news/article/33/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Hunminjeongeum Haerye NFT Project</a>, which saw the conversion of the Hangul manuscript–a national treasure of Korea–to a series of 100 NFTs to raise funds for the preservation and restoration of cultural assets.Previously, PUBLISH has been awarded a patent for a blockchain-based cryptocurrency donation platform and launched PUBLISHmint, a dedicated B2B platform for minting NFTs.“There is currently a big drive within the cryptocurrency industry to effect positive social change through various ESG initiatives,” said PUBLISH CEO Sonny Kwon. “ESG has always been part of our DNA at PUBLISH, and I hope that our collaboration with World Vision will help to promote a culture of giving within cryptocurrency circles,” he added.
