<p>In a recent video published on his YouTube channel, he first predicts a breakthrough for Litecoin (LTC). And the catalyst for this potential surge is none other than the upcoming halving, according to Michaël van de Poppe.</p>



<p>He states, “<em>Litecoin (LTC) is also doing very well. It is destined for a breakout. I believe the halving will occur in (August), which means we still have six to eight weeks before it takes place. I think a very strong rally is certainly likely if it surpasses $100. If it goes beyond $100…, then I suppose it will peak around $160 to $180.</em>”</p>



<p>While we wait for <a href="https://dailyhodl.com/2023/06/05/popular-analyst-says-litecoin-on-the-edge-of-breaking-out-updates-outlook-on-ethereum-here-are-his-targets/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Michaël van de Poppe’s envisioned scenario</a> to unfold, the price of Litecoin (LTC) is currently at $88.37 (at the time of writing this article).</p>



<h2 id="ether-eth-not-falling-behind">Ether (ETH) not falling behind?</h2>



<p>Further into his analysis, Michaël van de Poppe asserts that Ether might follow in Litecoin’s (LTC) footsteps. According to the expert, ETH could also appreciate in value. For this to happen, it is crucial for it to maintain its resistance level at $1800.</p>



<p>Michaël van de Poppe believes that if it manages to surpass the immediate resistance at $1903, it can skyrocket and reach $2800. Meanwhile, Ether (ETH) is trading at $1846.41.</p>



<p>Michaël van de Poppe’s prediction should delight holders of both cryptocurrencies. But be cautious not to rejoice too soon because another equally renowned analyst, <a href="https://www.cointribune.com/vers-une-chute-des-altcoins-lanalyse-inquietante-de-benjamin-cowen/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Benjamin Cowen, predicts a decline in altcoins</a>.</p>
