It’s the dawn of a new era, a time where token holders are empowered and encouraged to participate in the governance of their own assets and ecosystem.<blockquote>Kudoe DAO is here and ready for launch on Wednesday, March 1st, 2023.</blockquote>This post will explain in detail how the DAO will operate, the requirements, proposal phases, platforms and beyond.<h2 id="header-0">What is a DAO?</h2>A DAO, or Decentralized Autonomous Organization, is a type of organization that operates through smart contracts on a blockchain network, without a central authority or control. Decisions are made through consensus mechanisms, such as voting by its members or token holders, and its bylaws and rules are transparent and open to inspection by anyone with access to the blockchain network.<h2 id="header-1">How will Kudoe utilize the DAO</h2>The Kudoe DAO has been developed to empower KDOE token holders to govern the token and provide essential feedback and input towards the entire ecosystem.Specifically the DAO will govern<ul><li>KDOE token contract functions, including tax, timelock, allocation.</li><li>Staking contract, dilution, rewards, etc.</li><li>Grants</li><li>The DAO, the DAO will be able to regulate threshold requirements, Quorum (minimal votes needed).</li></ul>The DAO will NOT govern the following<ul><li>Black and Whitelist token functions.</li><li>Team allocation</li><li>Liquidity allocation</li><li>Kudoe the Company</li></ul>The DAO can also be used as a tool for token holders to guide and advise the project for potential usecases and utilitie. <h2 id="header-2">The governance process</h2>There are two key phases for the Kudoe DAO, Referendums and Proposals.<h2 id="header-3">What are Referendums?</h2>Referendums are “proposals” curated by token holders that suggest a change or an idea that falls in line with what the DAO is able to govern.Referendums are non-binding even if passed and approved by token holders. Once a referendum has been passed, it goes through a screening process by the Kudoe team to determine if the referendum will be turned into a “Kudoe Improvement Proposal,” or KIP for short.Referendums can be rejected by the team if deemed “harmful” or “malicious” to the Kudoe ecosystem. If an approved referendum is rejected, a full detailed explanation by the team will be provided, with recommendations for updating or changing key details for a revote.The following are the referendum Rules and Requirements:<ul><li>50,000 GKDOE tokens (Staked KDOE tokens).</li><li>10,000,000 GKDOE Quorum (minimal total votes threshold for a referendum to pass).</li><li>2 hour cool-down before voting starts after the referendum is submitted.</li><li>7 day voting period.</li><li>Follow the referendum guidelines</li></ul>Referendums that fail to follow the guidelines will be removed.<h2 id="header-4">What are Proposals?</h2>DAO proposals are curated by the Kudoe team that are derived from two key areas, referendums, and core proposals and turned into official “Kudoe Improvement Proposals” [KIP] for governance vote.Kudoe Improvement Proposals” or [KIP] is the official naming convention for Kudoe proposals. All proposals will use this naming convention along with the proposal ID for transparency and consistency.Referendums that have been curated and passed by the token, then screened and approved by the Kudoe team, will be turned into official KIPs with a dedicated ID number.The Kudoe team will also be able to curate KIP’s directly, bypassing the referendum stage, for official governance voting.KIP’s that are passed and approved through the governance vote will be binding.The following are the referendum Rules and Requirements:<ul><li>Must be either Core or an approved/screen referendum.</li><li>20,000,000 GKDOE Quorum (minimal total votes threshold for a referendum to pass).</li><li>7 day voting period.</li><li>Follow the referendum guidelines</li></ul>Approved KIP’s will be executed/applied according to the proposals details. All details are subject to legal and governance changes.Snapshot ⚡️Snapshot is a DAO platform that utilizes IPFS and the blockchain to provide tools and solutions for projects utilize through their own ecosystem.Kudoe will use Snapshot as it’s DAO platform and utilize their extensive tools and libraries in order to provide the most agile, dynamic and safe governance solution for KDOE token holders and community.<h2 id="header-5">Legal Disclaimer:</h2><blockquote>The Kudoe DAO does not grant KDOE token holders any ownership or control of “Kudoe,” the company, or any associated trademarks, intellectual property, or applications. The Kudoe DAO is established to govern only a predetermined set of functions on the token contract and select use cases, and any decisions made by the DAO will not alter the ownership or control of the company or its intellectual property. Kudoe retains all rights, title, and interest in the company, its trademarks, and intellectual property, and participation in the DAO should not be interpreted as a transfer, sale, or conveyance of any ownership or control of the same.
