Elizabeth Warren, a United States Senator, known for her <a href="https://news.todayq.com/senator-warren-gets-community-warning-for-bitcoin-etf-critique/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">anti crypto stance</a> is set to face a potential challenger in the race ahead. In the latest developments, a Massachusetts attorney and vocal advocate for digital assets announced his bid to clash with Warren. Pro-XRP lawyer in the fight against Warren 
John Deaton has been in the news for a long time, fighting for what he suggests is right for the crypto community. Reports suggest that pro crypto lawyer is contemplating a run for office as a Republican. He is well known for his thoughtful criticisms of government overreach.
His recent stints involved challenging the US Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) assertion that all sales of Ripple’s XRP were illegal unregistered securities. His advocacy has earned him a good and growing following on social media platform X, where he shares crypto insights and critiques regulatory decisions affecting the industry.
It is important to note that in 2022, Deaton was granted the status of “amicus curiae” in the <a href="https://news.todayq.com/sec-vs-ripple-a-crucial-battle-crypto-industry/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Ripple Vs SEC case</a>. He represented around 75K global XRP token owners. Reposts suggest that the pro crypto lawyer owns XRP with other major cryptos in his portfolio. Will this push crypto community up? 
Addressing the arrival of John Deaton as a challenger, Sen. Warren made a post on X but without any names mentioned. She wrote that the MAGA Republican machine couldn’t find a single Republican in Massachusetts to run against her. However, she alleged that the opposition brought in someone from Rhode Island. She added that the candidate will have the backing of the GOP and special interest groups.
John Deaton replied to the post making a clear statement. He wrote that no one had recruited him. Meanwhile, he invited Warren to hold a discussion on the issues that are important to the people of the state. This includes income inequality, inflation, housing costs, illegal immigration, the debt crisis, and veterans’ services.
As we dig in, Deaton is set to embrace the crypto community’s support as he is looking to accept campaign donations in cryptocurrency. Although his official campaign page lacked a crypto donation option initially. However, he has confirmed that supporters will soon be able to contribute using their Coinbase accounts.
This major political turning event comes in when the crypto market is riding on bullish sentiments. Bitcoin (BTC) is aiming to get over the $53,000 price level after hovering around $52K levels. However, the cumulative market cap is approaching to breach the $2 trillion mark.
