Logan Paul sued over CryptoZoo 😱

Logan Paul is being sued by an aggrieved CryptoZoo investor. The influencer has been accused of orchestrating a "rug pull" — and his assistant, manager and the project's lead developer are also named in the class action lawsuit. Don Holland, a police officer from Texas, alleges in court filings that he purchased digital currency from CryptoZoo — and claims Paul's platforms were used to promote crypto products to thousands of consumers who were unfamiliar with how they worked. The document adds: "Unbeknownst to the customers, the game did not work or never existed, and defendants manipulated the digital currency market for Zoo tokens to their advantage." Logan Paul is yet to publicly respond to the lawsuit.

Mastercard's NFT lead quits 🔥

Mastercard's NFT product lead has resigned from the company — and has alleged he was a victim of "harassment and emotional distress." In a blistering thread on Twitter, Satvik Sethi criticized the credit card giant for "mismanaged processes, miscommunication and internal inefficiency." He claimed that his salary was slashed by 40% and his workload increased by 200% when he moved from New York to London — and "had to work side jobs to make ends meet," adding: "There were months at a time when I wouldn't receive my salary until I begged across the hierarchy for it, among many other issues." Sethi has now minted his resignation letter as an NFT. CoinMarketCap has approached Mastercard for a comment.

Charlie Munger goes full 'Crypto Voldemort' 😬

Berkshire Hathaway's vice chairman has never liked crypto — and in a new op-ed for The Wall Street Journal, he argues that digital assets should be banned altogether. Charlie Munger praised Chinese President Xi Jinping for his crackdown on Bitcoin too — describing it as a "splendid example of uncommon sense." The 99-year-old went on to warn: "A cryptocurrency is not a currency, not a commodity, and not a security. Instead, it's a gambling contract with a nearly 100% edge for the house." Crypto supporters, of course, offered plenty of pushback on Twitter. RealVision's Crypto Editor, Ash Bennington, said: "I've always been a huge fan of Charlie Munger — but why does he want to be Crypto Voldemort on this?

Super Bowl gig to be held in the metaverse 🏈

Metaverse concerts are taking another step into the mainstream. Rapper Saweetie is going to perform a virtual show Super Bowl Concert in the Roblox metaverse. The show by the "Tap-In" star will be part of the NFL's build-up to Super Bowl LVII, bringing "a family-friendly, fully motion-captured performance ... that will bring the excitement of an NFL Super Bowl musical performance to millions of fans in the metaverse." The Friday, Feb. 10 concert will premiere at 7 p.m. ET, and re-air every hour until Sunday as part of the Super Bowl LVII weekend. There's a pretty strong case to be made that live-streamed virtual concerts fronted by recording artists' avatars are the single most successful use of the metaverse so far.

Doge's couch is going to be auctioned off 💰

The couch that Doge sat on in that iconic photo is being auctioned off — with 90% of the proceeds going to Save The Children. NFT art collective PleasrDAO has — it says — gotten its hands on the original couch that Kabosu was lying on when a photograph turned her into the most famous Shiba Inu on the planet. What PleasrDAO is selling is an NFT of the couch that comes with the right to the actual couch (pickup and delivery not included or arranged.) Weirdly, bids are only being accepted in ETH… and not DOGE. It seems Kabosu won't be needing her couch for much longer. Already 17 — two years past a Shiba Inu's average lifespan — the famous pooch is reportedly very sick with leukemia.
