PUBLISH and Newstapa are pleased to invite applications for the 2nd intake of the Newstapa Journalism School.
The initiative aims to educate and support aspiring investigative journalists and entrepreneurs who are interested in establishing an independent media outlet that focuses on investigative journalism.
The Newstapa Journalism School course consists of three parts. In part one, trainees will gain knowledge about investigative journalism theory through 34 lectures that cover topics such as investigative journalism techniques, ethics, and data journalism.
Afterward, trainees will embark on a 12-month placement at an independent news media outlet, such as Newstapa.
In the final stage of the program, participants will attend media entrepreneurship workshops and receive mentorship. They will also have the opportunity to apply for a grant to set up an investigative media outlet.
Applications for the second intake will be open until March 5, and shortlisted applicants will be interviewed on March 16 and 17. Successful applicants will be announced on March 20th, and approximately 20 participants are expected to be selected.
