Monsterra team encountered that unexpected situation just 2 days ago, unfortunately. There has been a security breach on the Monsterra reward wallet. Earlier Mar.22nd, we discovered that the wallet was compromised resulting in 528,980 MSTR drained from the reward and liquidity pool. The attacker used the Malware infection to hack into the wallet and forge illegal withdrawals. We discovered the attack after seeing the MSTR token price suddenly drop out.
Our team acted on the prevention immediately and fortunately, minimized the loss thanks to the strict security mechanism:

- Monsterra has RECOVERED all tokens that the hacker withdrew from the liquidity pool on the Avalanche chain
- Monsterra has REPLACED all hacked wallets with new wallets.
- Monsterra completed the BUY BACK phase 1 the hacked tokens to protect the token holder’s benefits. The buyback phase 2 will be proceeded shortly and announced to the large community once is done.

Details About The Hack🚫
- One of Monsterra team member’s personal computer was infected with Malware resulting in all wallet addresses on the device being hacked.
- Our wallet that stores tokens used for in-game event reward funds and the liquidity pool of the MSTR/MAG pair on Avalanche and OKC chains was one of those hacked
- The total hacked tokens were reported at 528,980 MSTR including 400,001 MSTR from the event prize fund and 128,979 MSTR tokens from the liquidity pool.
- The hacker withdrew the entire liquidity pool of the MSTR/MAG token pair on the OKC and Avalanche chains.
- The hacked tokens were sold on OKC and BNB chains as all tokens on Avalanche have been revoked thanks to the bridge’s security mechanism.
