Telegram CEO Pavel Durov Describes Hamster Kombat as “Fastest-Growing Digital Service”

Telegram founder and CEO Pavel Durov has expressed enthusiastic support for Hamster Kombat, a crypto game rapidly gaining traction on his messaging platform. Durov highlighted the game’s unprecedented rise, stating: “It took Hamster only 73 days to reach 100 million monthly users. Each day, 4-5 million new users join Hamster Kombat, making it the fastest-growing digital service in the world.”

In a post on his Telegram channel on Thursday, Durov spoke of a transformative era in digital services, with Hamster Kombat leading a "new wave" of mini apps that leverage blockchain technology to engage users. He believes these mini apps are set to introduce blockchain to a broader audience.
Hamster Kombat, along with other mini apps, can be accessed by any of Telegram’s 900 million-plus users without leaving the messaging app. Many of these games, including Hamster Kombat and its predecessor Notcoin (NOT), are integrated with The Open Network (TON), Telegram’s preferred blockchain network. This integration offers players the allure of crypto rewards through token airdrops.

For weeks, Hamster Kombat has touted its rapidly expanding user base. On Thursday, Durov confirmed these claims, revealing that the game has garnered an astonishing 239 million sign ups in just three months.

The game's rapid rise is not an isolated event. Notcoin, which preceded Hamster Kombat, led to one of this year’s most significant gaming token launches. Hamster Kombat has already surpassed Notcoin in pre-token launch engagement, with over 150 million users. Other Telegram-based games like PixelTap and Yescoin are also gaining momentum, employing a similar model of simple gameplay mechanics paired with blockchain incentives.

Durov further noted that Hamster Kombat is attracting four to five million new players daily, reinforcing his view that it is currently the fastest-growing digital service globally.

In response to the burgeoning interest in crypto games, Telegram has recently introduced a "mini app bar" feature for its iOS and Android apps, facilitating seamless switching between multiple open games. This enhancement aims to improve user experience as they navigate through various games like Hamster Kombat.
