A manhunt is taking place across Hong Kong after a gang of thieves stole 15 BTC from a crypto trader.
But as the seller counted his money, the robbers drove off with him inside the car, dumping him on a hillside about six kilometers away.
As well as keeping hold of the BTC, which was presumably stored on a hardware wallet, the gang took back the cash they had given him — as well as two of his mobile phones.
The 37-year-old victim later sought help from the police in a nearby housing estate.
Instances of robbery are relatively rare in Hong Kong, and just 242 incidents were reported in the first 10 months of 2020.
