IOTA: Dev Team Implements Stability-Focused Updates to GoShimmer, ConflictDAG-PR and IOTAcore
  • IOTA team implements testing and APIs to ensure ConflictDAG-PR works properly.
  • The focus is on stability before releasing the MVP.

IOTA’s latest developments on their GoShimmer GitHub account show the team is continuing to implement test cases and APIs for ConflictDAG-PR to ensure it works smoothly with other data flows. While the team has yet to make any major announcements, the new implementation seems more stable than before, but further testing is needed.
According to @jonastheis_, IOTA’s next steps will focus on completing “some loose ends,” with stability remaining the team’s top priority. The new ConflictDAG refactor is already integrated into the protocol data flow and is feature-complete, marking a significant step forward for IOTA.
In addition to the ConflictDAG refactor, the team is also working on a production-ready implementation called iota-core, which will bring coordicide to Shimmer and IOTA. Currently, the team is implementing the StardustVM (ledger) onto the core protocol, with Stardust output types being added to enable token and NFT functionalities.

Following that, the team plans to add accounts and other functionalities related to staking and voting. The team also expects to make protocol upgrades on chain-switching, conflict handling, and more. While plans are still being defined, GitHub activity suggests the team is actively working on these updates.

Overall, the team is prioritizing stability before releasing the MVP, with testing ongoing to ensure protocol stability. While there has yet to be an announcement of a release date, it’s clear that IOTA is focused on making significant strides in their protocol development.
