What Is Composable Finance (LAYR)?

[Composable Finance](https://www.composable.finance/) is a cross-chain and cross-layer interoperability platform. It was developed to resolve the current problem of a lack of cohesion between different decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols.

The solution is Composable’s dual-pronged approach to interoperability, which includes a hyper-liquidity infrastructure layer for DeFi assets that will be powered by both layer 2 on Ethereum and Polkadot. In the first component, Composabe focuses on multi-layer (L2/L2) interoperability, bridging the gap between different Ethereum Layer 2 implementations and sidechains. In the second component, Composable will utilize a parachain to run different smart contracts in tandem, allowing protocols on different chains to fully and quickly communicate across blockchain boundaries.

LAYR is the governance token for the entire Composable ecosystem, facilitating staking and transactions. This token will play a crucial role in the operations of Composable, acting as both a capital and consumable asset. Specific uses include:

* Gas Fees
* Block validation
* Governance
* Protocol emissions

How Many LAYR Coins Are Available?

Accepted Answer

100,000,000 LAYR tokens will be available in total:
* 20% of tokens (20,000,000) will be provided to seed investors of Composable Finance, with 20% of this amount (4,000,000) available at Composable’s Token Generation Event (TGE), and the rest vesting linearly over the next two years.
*5% of tokens (5,000,000) will be distributed to advisors with a 3 month cliff and linear vesting over 3 years.
* 30% of tokens (15,000,000) will be distributed to the team with a 6 month cliff and linear vesting over 3 years.
* 30% of tokens (30,000,000) will be distributed as protocol emissions, with 1/36 of this amount being available each month (approximately 833,333 per month).
* 10% of tokens (10,000,000) will be designated for the treasury, with a 1 year cliff and linear vesting over 2 years.
* 5% of tokens (5,000,000) will be distributed through our Polkadot vault strategy, with 50% of this (2,500,000) being available at TGE and the remaining 50% distributed over 3 months.
* 15% of tokens (15,000,000) will be distributed to the Community Development fund, with 10% of this (1,500,000) available at TGE and the rest having a 6 month cliff with monthly releases over 3 years.

Who Created/Backed Composable Finance?

Through its subsidiaries, publicly traded, Germany-based blockchain incubaor Advanced Blockchain AG incubated Composable Finance on the technical side and provided the intellectual property for Composable. During this period, Cosmin Grigore was the Lead Developer on the project. This incubation was completed alongside top-tier Web 3.0-focused venture capital firm Rarestone Capital, which assisted with product strategy and rollout for Composable Finance. Subsequently, Composable Finance was spun out, retaining Cosmin as its CEO. Advanced Blockchain also reinvested into Composable.

Composable Finance recently completed a $7 million raise led by Advanced Blockchain AG and Rarestone Capital, with participation from Divergence Ventures, New Form Capital, DFG, Maven 11, 4SV, Hypersphere Ventures, Blockchain Capital, PNYX Ventures, CMS Holdings, Alameda Research, SOSV, Spartan Group, LedgerPrime, LongHash Ventures, Cluster, and Pluto Digital Assets.

How can LAYR Tokens be Obtained?

Accepted Answer

There will not be a public sale of Composable Tokens. However, half of tokens will be utilized as various platform rewards and incentives, and can therefore be obtained by users:

* The largest allocation (30%) of tokens will be protocol emissions. These are incentives to reward users for promoting the growth and development of our network. More information about these rewards will be published on our Medium.
* Tokens can also be earned via participating in our Polkadot vault strategy (5% of token supply), as a reward to liquidity providers in this campaign.
* Community development tokens (15% of token supply) will be utilized to grow awareness of the protocol via the activation of various marketing channels and developing engagement through related incentives.

Once LAYR tokens are generated, they will be listed on popular exchanges such as SushiSwap.
